On January 14th, the 800,000€ Thermal PLO Festival in the beautiful Czech city of Karlovy Vary kicked off with the 550€ PLO4 ‘Heat it up’ event, featuring a guaranteed prize pool of 50,000€.
The event attracted 66 entries and 40 reentries, with many local Pot Limit Omaha legends showing up for the first event of the series, including:

Thanks to a total of 106 entries, the guaranteed prize pool was exceeded, reaching 51,013€. With 20,000 starting chips and 30 blind levels, players enjoyed an excellent structure that allowed for strategic play and maneuvering throughout the early tournament stages.

The money bubble burst around 1 AM, and it continued into the early morning until the winner was crowned. Memik Sezer claimed victory, marking his first tracked tournament win on TheHendonMob. Sezer had previously achieved deep runs at the WSOP Europe last year in Rozvadov and secured a 2nd place finish at the 1k€ EPT Prague in 2011, taking home 27,400€ from this event.
In the heads-up match, he faced Daniel Tordjman, a seasoned PLO specialist with total tracked winnings exceeding 609,000 USD. Tordjman’s highest score came in 2022 when he finished as the runner-up at the 1,500 USD PLO WSOP Event, earning a massive 192,000 USD payday.
